The FreeBSD Foundation is encouraging developers around the world to submit a project they have in mind to improve the FreeBSD operating system. In return, the proposals can receive a grant to make the development project a reality. Examples of projects they wish to see are deployment tooling (pkgbase), improving security of FreeBSD, debuggers, ports infrastructure, and more. Please see their page for criteria on what projects can be submitted.
Calling all developers! Do you have a project you’d like to work on that would improve FreeBSD?
The FreeBSD Foundation is still soliciting the submission of proposals for work that directly benefits any of the major subsystems or infrastructure within the FreeBSD operating system.
As you may know, the FreeBSD Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to supporting and building the FreeBSD Project worldwide. One way we provide this support is by funding software development, including work performed by the Foundation’s permanent staff, and by providing development grants.
